The area comprises of low-to-high mountain ranges, rich alluvial flood plains, riverine forests, mopane woodland, open savannah, combretum thickets, acacia woodlands and many lagoons that branch off the Luangwa River. All these habitats support a range of animal species that are so vast and unique in their own right.

We have the Luangwa River ecosystem, and in the mountains we have the Lunsemfwa and Lukusashi rivers which form their own unique ecosystem whose beauty is unmatched.
